A touch of softness (and queerness).
A local Brooklyn business owner hired Perry for a external logo and indoor mural. While given structural direction for the exterior, the interior was completely at the artist’s direction. As a result, they pulled on their own personal experiences and emotions into the confined space. “Close”depicts a mutual serenity shared among two androgynous people, whose faces and features align them as visual equals. The colors of the piece were chosen in coordination with the business logo. Its confident strokes, focused composition, and bold colors create a focal point for the space as well as an undeniable touch of queerness to a local business.
