Title Priscilla & Regina (Re-imagined)

Year 2024

Materials Acrylic on denim

A timeless love.

A colored rendition of Joan E. Biron (“JEB”)’s photograph titled "Priscilla and Regina" (Brooklyn, New York. 1979). The original image captures the calm embrace between two Black lesbians, presumably sleeping in a field of grass in 1979’s Brooklyn. The artist’s re-imagination of this iconic image brings color to the original black and white photograph all while the timelessness of this sapphic love is preserved.
